POSITION SUMMARY: The Humanities Department at Toccoa Falls College invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the field of Communication Studies starting August 1, 2023. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The department seeks a dynamic and innovative individual to join our Communication Studies faculty in the instruction, oversight, and development of courses that are part of the Communication Studies major.
TASKS: Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to teach a variety of courses including introductory to upper-level courses in Communication Studies. Potential courses, depending on the candidate’s experience and background, may include Introduction to Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Social Media, Mentoring, Research Methods, and Media Production. We are particularly interested in candidates who can develop and teach innovative undergraduate courses in the area of Branding and Social Media Management.
Academic advising and committee work are expectations of the position. Participation in program curriculum development, mentoring undergraduate students, serving on assigned committees, and maintaining required office hours are also requirements.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: The ideal candidate should be a Spiritually mature Christian with a vibrant evangelical Christian faith, who is in agreement with the college statement of faith, and committed to the vision, mission and values of Toccoa Falls College. The outstanding candidate, dedicated to a spirit of collaboration and teamwork, should also demonstrate evidence of strong teaching skills integrating faith and learning.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: To be considered, all candidates must have a minimum of a Master’s in Communication from an accredited institution; an earned doctorate is preferred. Prior college teaching experience is desirable.

Toccoa Falls College is an evangelical, independent, and interdenominational college, affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination. It seeks to maintain the biblical emphasis of a Christian college while offering the broad range of professional studies of a liberal arts college. Toccoa Falls College is located in the foothills of the northeast Georgia mountains, 95 miles north of Atlanta, GA and 65 miles south of Greenville, SC. The campus is situated on 1,100 beautiful acres and includes a 186’ high waterfall. The College is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU).
