Position Summary
The Director of Admissions is directly responsible to the Vice President for Enrollment. The Director is responsible for the recruitment of new students to the University, and the facilitating of on-campus and off-campus recruiting events. The Director shall develop and maintain a budget spending plan. Additionally, the Director is responsible for developing an overall recruiting strategy, for hiring and supervising Admissions Counselors and support staff, and providing input for all printed material connected to the recruiting process. The Director shall assist in the evaluation of the credentials of prospective student applications in deciding which students shall be granted admission status to the University.
Position Requirements
Education/Certification: An earned Master’s Degree is preferred.
Special Knowledge/Skills: Must be familiar with various computer software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Should possess supervisory, organizational, planning, management, and budgeting skills; good oral and writing skills; should show evidence of some creative instincts.
Experience: Three (3) years of recruiting/admissions experience
Christian Commitment: Must be a Christian who is a member of a church that holds Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord, and who holds solely the Holy Bible as sacred Scriptures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop the student recruiting strategy for the University. Direct and facilitate all admissions-related processes and events.
Create and implement a set of policies and standards for the Admissions Department.
Develop and follow the Admissions Master Plan and Institutional Effectiveness Plan according to prescribed University procedures.
Supervise the work of the Admissions Counselors and support staff.
Work closely with the ETBU Marketing & Communication Department to provide quality recruiting pieces that provide accurate information to prospective students.
Develop and submit a comprehensive budget for the work of the Admissions Office. Oversee budgeted expenditures and exercise managerial oversight to ensure the successful implementation of key programs, events, and recruitment initiatives designed to impact the enrollment behavior of incoming students.
Represent the University as needed and work to facilitate the positive image that ETBU has within the community and constituency. Establish, organize, administer, and evaluate an effective program of student recruitment in the context of ETBU’s mission and admission policies and standards.
Evaluates the functionality of the admissions/recruitment process.
Provides accurate records and reports to the Vice President for Enrollment.
Adhere to all state, and federal accreditation and college rules and regulations regarding student recruitment.
Develop project timelines and utilize project manager software to plan and track outcomes of assigned key programs of interest and events, design and analyze institutional recruitment data to make decisions to target recruitment efforts for successful enrollment outcomes.
Assist with meeting enrollment, recruitment, and student service objectives of the University by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President for Enrollment
