Eastern Nazarene College, a fully accredited Christian liberal arts college on Boston’s south shore, is seeking an Academic Vice President and Dean of the College to serve as the Chief Academic Officer of the College, including traditional undergraduate and adult/graduate programs. Reporting to the President, you will lead the overall academic program of the College, ensuring faithfulness to our mission of integrating the best of education and the best in Christianity to students from diverse backgrounds.
Provide strategic leadership to academic decision-making and allocation of resources within the context of institutional priorities
Ensure the robust assessment and quality improvement of all academic programs
Direct faculty recruitment and retention, paying particular attention to enhancing the cultural diversity of our faculty
Collaborate with faculty and the vice president of enrollment to oversee the development of new academic programs that are faithful to mission and will facilitate enrollment growth
Oversee the development and implementation of all academic policies and procedures
Serve as the dean of the faculty and chair faculty meetings
Oversee faculty development efforts
Chair the Promotion Committee and the Tenure Review Committees
Chair the Academic Leadership Team
Oversee the Academic Faculty Committees including the Curriculum Committee, the Academic Policy Committee, and the Instructional & Professional Development Committee
Oversee the development of online and off-site programs
Serve as institutional liaison to the New England Commission on Higher Education (NECHE)
Collaborate with the faculty and the vice president for student development in the integration of curricular and co-curricular programming
Set the academic calendar and oversee planning for academic convocation and commencement
Oversee the publication and dissemination of the college catalog
Supervise the following offices: Library, Chaplain, Registrar, Institutional Research, Campus Kinder Haus, Center for Academic Success, Graduate Assistant Program
Serve as a member of the president’s cabinet
Serve as leader of the campus and chair of the cabinet in the absence of the President
Work with the Board of Trustees and its appropriate sub-committees
Represent ENC in the academy and with other external constituents
Be a lifelong learner who remains active in one’s own discipline and pursues ongoing professional development as an academic leader
