Scholarship & Christianity in Oxford (SCIO) Washington, DC Logos Workshop Intern Period: March 15 – May 23 2020 (average of 1 hour per week) May 26 – 30 2020 (average of 3 hours per day) May 31 – June 13 (full time, ca. 80 hours total)
SCIO seeks an intern for the 2020 Logos Workshop in Washington, DC, which will be held at the Museum of the Bible (MOTB) and other Washington, DC museums (with lodging at the CCCU’s Dellenback Center) from May 31 through June 13, 2020. The Logos Intern will assist with the various administrative and event management tasks required to organize and execute the Workshop. The Logos Workshop is a summer conference on biblical texts, vocation, and the Christian mind that is organised by SCIO with funding provided by Steve and Jackie Green.
The Intern will report to the Logos Workshop Texts and Manuscripts Project Coordinator / Logos Director.

Duties (including but not limited to:)
In advance of the Workshop (March 15 – May 30)
Assist with local bookings related to the Logos Workshop (e.g. transportation, speaker accommodation, etc.)
Order and receive supplies, working with the CCCU DC office (e.g. paper goods, Workshop materials and swag, books, etc.)
Order meals for dinner each evening of the Workshop for a group of 40
Prepare welcome packs, name tags, and other materials
Prepare participant accommodations (hospitality packs and kitchen supplies)
Visit venues if required
During the Workshop (May 31 – June 13)
May 31: assist with welcoming participants and welcome dinner
June 1 – 13:
Set and clean up continental breakfast from ca. 6:30 – 9am at the Dellenback Center
Set and clean up dinner from ca. 5:30 – 8:00pm at the Dellenback Center (includes receiving food delivery)
Be present at MOTB and available to run errands in DC as required (groceries, materials, etc.)
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Successful candidates will have:
Capacity to work independently and manage deadline
Familiarity with Washington, DC
Clear and professional communication
Ability to manage and organize relevant data
A keen eye for detail
Participate in most of the Workshop sessions
Accommodations provided during the Workshop if needed
