The Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) seeks an Educational Programs Fellow to join the CCCU’s BestSemester staff in an administrative capacity for 15 hours per week on a temporary basis. In the process, the Fellow will learn about Christian higher education and experience the full spectrum of operations required to execute successful third-party provider, global experiential education programs. The Fellow will engage in a wide variety of administrative duties and research. In addition to the day-to-day duties, the Fellow will have the opportunity to implement projects that are specifically designed to promote our international and domestic off-campus study programs, enhance our relationships with member campuses, and creatively identify ways to expand the quality and reach of our programs.
The Council is a professional association of 180+ campuses in 20 countries whose mission is to advance the cause of Christ-centered higher education and to help our member institutions transform lives by faithfully relating scholarship and service to biblical truth. The Council coordinates professional development opportunities for administrators and faculty, manages U.S. based and international off-campus student programs, provides public advocacy for Christ-centered higher education and manages cooperative efforts among its member campuses (www.cccu.org).
Coordinate and schedule bi-weekly meetings with program directors, commissions, and VPEP related meetings
Help coordinate SAPC program review visits
Help organize materials for curriculum review, and educational survey materials
Follow up on Concur and budget deadlines
Help organize materials and resources for WLDI, LDI, and other professional development programs
Coordinating travel logistics and itineraries for VPEP
Assist with the Interfaith cooperation grant and other details related to this project
Assist with Acadeum coordinator logistics
Update iMIS details for CAOS, CSDOs, and SAPC
Follow up with member campus requests, CCCU visits, and service requests via email/phone
Follow up with speaker invitations and organize proposals related to conferences
Help manage details related to BestSemester (e.g. Directors Meeting, newsletter, etc.)
Help coordinate special meetings/dinners related to academic officer groups
Help manage listervs (e.g. NetVue)
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
*The nature and responsibilities of this position may change at the discretion of the CCCU and pending the Fellow’s time availability in addition to the following special projects.
Special Projects May Include:
Researching trends and best practices in study abroad
CCCU Faculty accreditation groups and resources
College Consortium/Acadeum meetings
Persons applying for the position should:
Affirm the Nicene Creed and have an appreciation for the Christian mission and purpose of the CCCU and its BestSemester programs
Have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Have experience completing detailed research projects
Be competent in computer programs such as Microsoft Office suite
Have a good grasp of databases and understand database logic
Be detail-oriented, highly organized, flexible and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Have a Bachelor's degree
Preference will be given to applicants with the following desired qualities:
Master’s degree candidates in need of a higher education internship/practicum, or recent CCCU graduates who desire experience in educational management/administration
Cross-cultural educational experience
Benefits and Compensation:
$1,000/month stipend for 15 hours of work per week
Potential for extension of fellowship and/or future permanent position after June 30 dependent upon budget availability
