Malone University is poised to continue the process of establishing the "Malone of the Future" which will position it to be a significant institution in Christian higher education. To see this vision fulfilled, Malone needs a capable, enterprise-level, forward-leaning Provost who can lead the faculty and campus through this continuous process.
As a CCCU member and Consortium of Christian Colleges member, Malone has a well-established legacy in Christian higher education. In keeping with John Kotter’s acclaimed book, Built to Last, influential organizations of the future will need to be more rooted than most and more innovative than most. With this in view, Malone seeks to reaffirm its Christian roots while actively pursuing innovation in higher education.
Aside from the President, the Provost is the most senior member of the Collegium at Malone University. This role has essential points of integration with almost every office on campus. Therefore, this leader will need to find the balance of appreciating Malone's historical mission and culture as well as helping it to move forward to some new places both in its traditional, on-campus program for traditional students as well as with non-traditional and online programs.
All this needs to be done with vision, influence, and collaboration with an eye toward both the academic mission of the institution as well as the financial, market-facing issues facing all higher education institutions.
These are exciting times at Malone University for leaders who want to be at the forefront of innovative Christian higher education. Malone invites all high-capacity Christian academic leaders to consider this opportunity.
