Position Purpose
The growing and vibrant digital innovation team at George Fox University, called "George Fox Digital" (GFD), helps our instructors teach thousands of student credit hours in fully digital and hybrid courses (undergraduate, graduate, and adult degree programs). The Assessment and Student Experience Specialist for GFD is responsible for helping the organization measure learning and student experience in these courses. As an integral part of our learning design team, the one who holds this position will support students and faculty in the critical task of thinking about how students are interacting with our digital courses: Learn why students take these courses, gather and present data on how and when and why and in what circumstances students learn well in these courses, and explore how we can continually improve our courses to fulfill the mission of George Fox University. In addition to traditional academic offerings, the Specialist in this area will support other educational products with similar assessment and learner experience work, such as non-degree certificate programs, corporate education initiatives, and in-house digital products for our University.

- Maintain an advanced understanding of the George Fox student experience by collaborating with data analysts, marketing staff, learning support services, faculty, students themselves, and others who survey student feedback.
- Work with the George Fox University director(s) of assessment to ensure GFD courses are in line with GFU and NWCCU practices and standards.
- Proactively work in a design team to initiate substantive change in courses and products to assure learning outcomes are met.
- Help GFD ensure that we fulfill the GFU promise that all students will "Be Known" at our university-even in digital environments.
- Help the Vice President of George Fox Digital discuss the progress of the GFD initiative with the broader GFU community through presentations, data, case studies, surveys of student evaluation results, interviews with selected students, and other internal and external marketing measures that will help our community know about progress made toward effective learning in GFD environments.
