The primary teaching responsibilities for this position will be in the Master of Education in Administration and Supervision program; additionally, this role has the potential to include a Director role for the MedAS program, pending applicant experience. Students in the MEdAS program gain knowledge and experience in administration and supervision at the K-6 level or the 7-12 level. This faculty member will also teach across other Graduate programs including the Master of Education program, Doctor of Education program, and Education Specialist Program in Superintendency. These Graduate programs offer courses across the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Ability for summer teaching is strongly preferred. The College of Education enrolls 500+ students, employs over 15 full-time faculty members, and is supported by 8 full-time staff members, in addition to part-time faculty and staff members. Anderson University recognizes three paths for faculty employment: annual appointment, professional path, and tenure track. Faculty hired for annual appointments are evaluated on mission fit, and teaching and learning. They begin employment at the rank of instructor with the opportunity to be promoted to senior lecturer. Faculty in the Professional Path focus on teaching and learning and are evaluated on mission fit, teaching and learning, and service; and they are able to be promoted through professorial ranks. After six years of exemplary service, faculty on the Professional Path become eligible for multi-year contracts. Faculty on tenure track focus initially on teaching and learning, but they are evaluated on mission fit, teaching and learning, service, and scholarship. Tenure-track faculty promote through professorial ranks and are eligible for tenure status in year six.
This full-time faculty position requires an earned terminal degree in educational leadership or a related field (PhD or EdD) and relevant experience in educational administration and supervision at the school/district levels. The preferred candidate will be expected to demonstrate potential for teaching excellence in online and hyflex settings, extensive professional experience, scholarly activity, and an interest in serving the profession. The applicant must have P-12 administrative experience at the school/district levels. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to develop curriculum and serve as a chair for doctoral students through their dissertation process. Review of applications will begin in May 2025 for an August 2025 start date.
