Position Overview:
The Program Director for its Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree program is responsible for overseeing the academic quality, operational effectiveness, and strategic growth of the DBA program. The ideal candidate will be a committed educator and scholar who integrates Christian faith into their work, aligning with the mission of Belhaven University.
Responsibilities
· Program Leadership and Administration
Provide strategic leadership for the DBA program, ensuring alignment with the mission, vision, and goals of the School of Business and the university.
Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the DBA curriculum, ensuring its relevance to contemporary business and academic
Collaborate with university leadership to set enrollment and retention goals for the program and implement strategies to achieve them.
Teach courses in the
· Faculty Development and Oversight
Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty members teaching in the DBA
In collaboration with the Dean of Online Studies, facilitate faculty development initiatives to ensure instructional excellence and scholarly productivity.
Promote a collegial and collaborative academic environment that fosters innovation and intellectual rigor.
Develop and implement a DBA Chair training program with accompanying training
· Student Support and Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for DBA students, providing guidance on academic and professional development matters.
Foster a culture of student success by implementing effective advising, mentoring, and support services.
Actively engage with students to promote scholarly productivity and ensure timely program completion.
Plan and execute the annual digital residencies for DBA
Collaborate with the Dean of Doctoral Studies on the international student residencies as it relates to the DBA Attend (and teach, if necessary) all international student residencies.
· Academic and Scholarly Contributions
Maintain a personal program of scholarly activity and professional
Support faculty and student research efforts, facilitating opportunities for publication and conference participation.
Ensure high academic standards in all aspects of the DBA program, including dissertation/applied project research and defense.
· Operational and Accreditation Responsibilities
Support the work of the Provost and Dean to ensure compliance with SACS and IACBE accreditation standards and reporting requirements related to the DBA
Conduct regular program assessments and utilize data to drive improvements in curriculum and delivery.
· Community and Professional Engagement
Represent the DBA program at internal and external events, including recruitment fairs, academic conferences, and community outreach initiatives.
Build partnerships with business leaders, organizations, and academic institutions to enhance the program’s reputation and create opportunities for students and alumni.
Promote the DBA program through active engagement with professional associations and networks.
Qualifications

A DBA or D. in Business Administration or a closely related field from a regionally-accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education, including teaching and administrative Experience with graduate or doctoral programs is required.
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal
Excellent written and verbal communication
Proficiency in academic program management, curriculum development, and accreditation
A proven record of scholarly activity, including publications and
Familiarity with online and hybrid education
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supervising doctoral research and guiding dissertation
Active involvement in business, industry, accreditation, or professional
A collaborative leadership
Location
This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work. The position will be located on the campus in Jackson, MS.
