Position Title: Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor of Social Work
Department: Academic Affairs > Social Sciences
Position Summary: Warner University is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position/field education director in the Department of Social Sciences to begin in Fall 2025. Responsibilities include overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all components of undergraduate field education and teaching a variety of undergraduate social work courses including field seminars, Social Work Practice, Social Welfare Policy, Social Work Research, Human Behavior in the Social Environment, and Introduction to Social Work. Other responsibilities include student advising and serving on department, college, and university-wide committees.
Candidates must have an MSW from a CSWE-approved program and at least two years of post-degree practice. We seek candidates committed to social work education, teaching, online education, as well as research, service, and the mission of the university. The successful candidate will teach primarily in the traditional setting at Warner University’s campus in Lake Wales and may teach online as well.
The successful candidate is expected to display a commitment to Christian education, especially as it pertains to the relationship between the behavioral/social sciences and faith. The chosen candidate must affirm and support the university’s statement of faith. Preference will be given to candidates who have some degree of theological education or experience in Christian education in an orthodox, evangelical context.
Some experience in teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred. Experience with Moodle or a similar online learning platform is also desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with a DSW or Ph.D. in social work. An LCSW or other certifications will also be considered.

The campus was built on 300 acres donated by Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Holland. The first commencement took place in 1972 with four graduates. Warner’s third President, Dr. David A. Hoag, was inaugurated in the fall of 2016. He is preceded in leadership by only two others; Dr. Gregory V. Hall (1991–2016) and Dr. Leroy Fulton (1968–1991).
