Job Title: Visiting Assistant Professor in Biological and Health Sciences (Expertise in Botany and Biological/Environmental Ethics who will contribute to the Biology, and Conservation and Ecological Health Majors) 

Overview:

Wheaton College (IL) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Professor to join the faculty in a visiting position in the Biological and Health Sciences Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in general biology, botany, environmental or biological ethics. This individual will contribute to the intellectual and spiritual growth of our students, blending academic excellence with a commitment to Christian values.

Start Date: Full-Time – Fall 2025

Pay range: Assistant Professor - $62,000 - 67,000

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive courses in general biology, botany and bioethics at the undergraduate level.
• Utilize diverse teaching methods, including lectures, laboratory sessions, discussions, and innovative educational technologies, to promote active learning and critical thinking.

Qualifications:

• A Ph.D. in Biology, Botany, Ecology or a related field.
• Demonstrated commitment to Christian values and the ability to integrate faith and learning in the field of biological sciences.
• Prior teaching experience at the university level is preferred, with a strong record of effective and innovative pedagogy.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
