Full-Time Assistant/Associate Professor of Counseling (Doctoral Degree Required)
The College of Social Sciences and Humanities at Southeastern University announces an opening for a core Ph.D. faculty member in our MS in Counseling Program. This individual will play a key role in developing our premier online program. Previous teaching and curriculum development experience is required. Online teaching experience preferred. The candidate will be expected to help build a program toward CACREP standards, participate in the recruitment and advisement of students, serve on departmental and university committees, contribute to assessment efforts, and advise student organizations. Candidates must be committed to the Christian mission of Southeastern University and excellence in Counseling education. The candidate will report to the director of the Counseling Program and work collaboratively to further the school's mission.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Kristine Spinks, Associate Professor; David Lawson, Professor/Program Director
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but is not limited to the following
Teaching online and face-to-face during residential intensives
Developing counseling curriculum and syllabi
Assisting in The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) accreditation process including program assessment
Recruiting and advising graduate students for the program
Demonstrating a commitment to community and university service
Serving on university and department committees as assigned
Maintaining a full-time faculty teaching load (15 credit hours/semester), with release time given for program and departmental service
Integrating a Christian worldview throughout the curriculum
ADDITIONAL/NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
All remaining duties are considered "nonessential" within the context of the ADA, which means that the function could be reassigned to another employee in order to allow a disabled individual to hold the position. Alternatively, the manager could try to provide a reasonable accommodation so that the disabled individual could perform the function.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required Education: Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Required- Licensed Mental Health Counselor
EXPERIENCE
Required: None required
Preferred: Teaching experience is preferred
Minimum Qualifications
MUST have a doctoral degree from a counselor education program, from a CACREP accredited program
Experience in a counselor education program
Program and course development experience
Affiliation with and participation with professional counseling organizations
Commitment to Christian faith integration in and out of the classroom
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Licensed or License-eligible in the State of Florida
Successful teaching experience at the graduate level
Scholarly work or research in counseling/counselor education
Strong interpersonal skills
Faculty Rank will be assigned based on candidate qualifications.
