LeTourneau University is seeking an exceptional educator and leader with a strong Christian faith to serve as Associate Dean of the College of Education, Arts and Sciences. The Associate Dean is an academic administrator who reflects and supports the University’s mission of educators engaging learners to nurture Christian virtue to develop competency and ingenuity in their professional fields, to integrate faith and work, and to serve the local and global community.
The Associate Dean works in collaboration with and under the direction of the dean and assists in developing and achieving the college’s vision, mission, and goals. The Associate Dean also assists in the leadership of the college to include support for workload management; budgeting; assessment and accreditation; policy development; and other responsibilities as assigned. The Associate Dean teaches part time in his or her respective discipline with a teaching load of six credit hours per semester during the Fall and Spring Semesters.
Term: This is an 11-month, full time, tenure-track faculty position
Primary Responsibilities
Assist the dean in developing and achieving the college’s vision, mission, and goals
Represent the College of Education, Arts and Sciences in the dean’s absence
Collaborate with the dean and department chairs to coordinate faculty teaching assignments, including oversight of faculty teaching loads
Assist the dean in resolving challenges, concerns, and issues related to students, faculty, and staff
Participate in the development and implementation of college policies, procedures, and guidelines
Work closely with faculty in developing and implementing assessment procedures including the collection of assessment data
Assist the dean in leading General Education assessment efforts
Be available to participate in any meeting between the dean and faculty and staff, including evaluation sessions as requested by the dean
Perform other duties as assigned by the dean
Qualifications
LeTourneau University seeks an individual with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith who is committed to teaching, research, and leadership at a small, dynamic Christian University where the integration of faith and academic excellence is paramount. The candidate must be in genuine agreement with the University’s Statement of Faith and Community Covenant for life and work at LeTourneau.
The candidate must be able to be credentialed to teach in one of the disciplines in the College of Education, Arts and Sciences (Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Computer Science Mathematics, Kinesiology, Education)
Academic credentials that qualify the candidate for the rank of associate or full professor in the College of Education, Arts and Sciences
An open, transparent, and collaborative spirit; a desire to empower others; a consensus-building management style predicated on mutual respect and active listening; and the skill to inspire colleagues
Strong administrative skills with experience in budgeting and personnel management; experience with strategic planning, accreditation, and dual credit programs is highly desired but not required
Experience with and a working knowledge of program assessment
A strong appreciation for Christian Higher Education and the unique strategic vision of LeTourneau University

The College of Education, Arts and Sciences is home to more than 400 students across its variety of residential and online programs. The College also serves campus extensively through its general education curriculum and oversees instruction within our thriving dual credit program.
