George Fox University's Marketing and Communications Department is seeking a highly motivated graphic designer looking to join a dynamic team of committed marketing professionals as a Graphic Designer; motion graphics and illustration skills are a plus.
About the Job:
The person in this role will be a part of the Marketing Communications team and will collaborate with content directors, our art director, project managers and our web team. This designer plays a vital role in communicating our vision and brand to our community through digital marketing materials. This position will be part of our mission to help create delight for our prospective students from their first interaction with us until they become alumni.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Designing digital advertisements, working closely with the art director. (25%)
- Developing concepts through multiple media: web, social media, digital ads, print (20%)
- Designing print materials, working closely with the art director. (20%)
- Maintaining client and team communication from project start to finish, reviewing final work with project manager, art director and clients and make final revisions or deliver the product (15%)
- Creating animation for web, ads, email and social media. (10%)
- Designing strategic and visually compelling infographics and social assets that simplify complex ideas and processes for quick understanding. (10%)
- Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
- By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
- Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.
- Other duties as assigned.
A day in the life of this position:
The Graphic Designer works in the designers' open office space. This role involves checking email and tasks, and asking clarifying questions of the client, art director or project manager as needed. A typical day's design work might include online ads, emails, social media graphics, infographics, or animations for print or web. The Graphic Designer engages in regular, twice-a-week meetings with the entire Marketing and Communications team to keep everyone abreast of ongoing projects. The day may include a meeting with a client about a new project. Typical banter and communications with fellow marcom team members happens throughout the day.
We're looking for candidates who have:
- A Bachelor's Degree or an Associate's Degree with at least three years of experience.
- Graphic design skills in layout, typography, color usage.
- Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.
- Proficiency with HTML5, including animation.
- The ability to work within and further develop brand guidelines.
- Motion graphic and animation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
