Anderson University’s Office of the Provost invites applications for a full-time academic officer to serve as Associate Provost to lead our accreditation and institutional effectiveness efforts and serve as the university’s liaison to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). This academic leader fosters programmatic and curriculum excellence across academic units, and directly serves administration, faculty, and students in the functions and operations of the Office of the Provost.

Essential Functions
Serves as SACSCOC Liaison, maintaining clear channels of communication with SACSCOC; apprising the institution’s Senior Leadership on regulatory, compliance, and accreditation matters; directing and leading the accreditation process for the university’s Reaffirmation of Accreditation (Reaffirmation Year: 2028); and serving on SACSCOC accrediting teams.
Directs the institution-wide process for institutional effectiveness including annual reporting for academic and non-academic departments. Duties include planning and coordinating with academic areas academic assessment programs and initiatives, in support of program and institutional accreditation goals and objectives.
In coordination with the Office of Institutional Research, administer institution-wide surveys including IDEA Class Ratings, ETS Proficiency Profile, NSSE, and the AU Student Satisfaction Survey.
Administers the IDEA course evaluation process.
Participates in hiring part-time faculty members.
Oversees academic probation, suspension, and readmission process, including communicating with the Registrar’s office, the Office of Admission, Office of Financial Aid, students, and advisors.
Adjudicates academic appeals.
Provides academic leadership and budgetary support for AU101.
Assists the Provost as requested or assigned.
Working Relationships
Reports to the Provost
Interacts regularly with members of Senior Leadership, academic leaders, and a range of offices across the university, including the Office of the Registrar, Student Development, the Center for Student Success, the Office of Financial Aid, faculty, students, and HR.
Physical and Mental Effort
Majority of duties are sedentary in nature. Position requires extended periods of sitting.
Occasional periods of light lifting (up to 20 lbs.) may be required when preparing or moving materials and setting up for events.
Prolonged use of computer equipment requires visual acuity and finger dexterity.
Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements
This is an on-campus, in person role.
Standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30am until 4:30pm.
Occasional irregular or extended hours may be necessary for special on or off-campus programs and university events.
Occasional travel required.
Essential Qualifications and Attributes
Commitment to work in a collaborative and cooperative manner in support of the mission, vision, and values of Anderson University.
Earned doctorate or terminal degree required from an accredited university, with credentials and professional activity that qualifies candidate for the rank of Associate Professor or above.
Expertise and experience in academic administration, particularly related to academic assessment and accreditation.
Strong organizational skills, including meticulous attention to detail in a dynamic work environment, requiring adaptability and resilience.
Demonstrated capacity to formulate, plan, and manage projects through fostering a cooperative team culture and effective collaboration.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and reliability.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
High level of emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills.
