Anderson University (South Carolina) and the College of Arts and Sciences invite applications for a full-time, nine-month position in Sociology with a start date of August 2025. An earned doctorate in Sociology is required; ABDs will be considered. Experience teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred. Screening will begin immediately and continue until the job is filled. Faculty rank and status will be determined at the time of appointment based upon the degrees, experience, and record of scholarship.
The idea candidate will be able to teach courses that support our Sociology minor and growing Human Development and Family Studies, such as Introduction to Sociology, Marriage and Family, Social Problems, Family Law and Public Policy, and Parent/Child Relationships. An interest in developing interdisciplinary and/or contemporarytopics courses for a growing department and university is desirable. Sociology faculty maintain a teaching load of 24 credit hours per academic year, supervise undergraduate research projects, and advise.
