The Young School of Business at Louisiana Christian University (LCU) invites applicants for the Mary Martin Fowler Endowed Chair of Accounting as a tenure-track Assistant, Associate Professor, or Professor of Accounting beginning Fall 2024. The ability to teach in multiple areas, particularly or Data Analytics or Finance, is a strong advantage.Rank will be determined by qualifications of the successful applicant.
LCU’s primary mission is teaching from a faith-informed perspective. The School seeks faculty who are active Christians whose biblical worldview guides their teaching and research. The School offers a Bachelor of Science in Business degree and a new Master of Business Administration degree. Courses are delivered in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. The School of Business is ACBSP accredited.
Duties and Responsibilities
Applicants need to demonstrate abilities to engage students in learning both in the classroom and online. Responsibilities of the position include serving as an academic advisor to students, participating on university committees, overseeing curriculum development and assessment for the business and accounting degrees, and assisting the School with its student recruitment efforts. Faculty development through scholarship activities is encouraged with funding available through an endowment.
All full-time faculty are expected to teach courses, hold office hours, and participate fully in departmental, collegiate, and university activities; to engage in scholarly/creative activity; contribute to departmental and university work; advise students; participate in recruitment events and activities, and demonstrate a commitment to professional development. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an effective working relationship with the administration, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the community to ensure the success of the program.
Qualifications
Possess an earned PhD or DBA in Accounting, or a closely related field, from a nationally or regionally accredited institution (ABD will be considered with a firm completion date).
Qualifications to teach Data Analytics, or Finance classes in addition to Accounting courses is a significant advantage
Demonstrated teaching excellence
Commitment to production of scholarship in peer reviewed publications.
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
A Christian commitment and the ability to integrate Christian faith into traditional coursework.
