The Director of Advancement Operations is responsible for managing the internal operations of the Office of University Advancement, including gift processing, data analytics and reporting, and database administration. Provides management to the CRM system, gift processing and reporting of accurate donor and gift record entries and maintenance of constituent records. Maintains knowledge of gift policies, CASE standards, and tax laws. Works with the Business office and accounting services staff, gift officers and staff, and other university departments and staff, when required.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Required Experience
Seven or more years of operational management experience and training related to CRM data entry, donation processing, and database management. Higher education environment preferred.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
Staff Management
The Director of Advancement Operations is responsible for managing multiple teams and staff, and developing a future generation of leaders and development professionals, including direct management of the following staff:
Database Administrator (and Systems Analyst)
Data Analysts (and Data Analyst Assistant)
Gift Records Coordinator
Data Management
Supervision over procedures, training and documentation to assure quality control, and compliance with Advancement and university data standards for all constituent information items.
Maintain best practices for and provide positive customer service with constituents concerning their information.
Cultivate communication with other university offices to advance efficient data integration in areas of mutual interest.
Gift Management
Exercise independent judgment with relation to adjudication of gift acceptance and gift allocation policies
Prepare and communicate donor reports as needed for staff or donors. Prepare donor reports for and coordinate as liaison with other departments on donor reporting and donation premiums.
Maintain knowledge of gift-related coding and requirements of IRS guidelines, CASE guidelines and APU policies and procedures.
Participate in external groups and listservs to enhance knowledge of best practices and procedures.

Proficient in Google Apps., Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
Proficient in Raiser’s Edge, PeopleSoft and other CRM software.
Knowledge of Tableau and other Business Intelligence programs.
Compensation
Grade 16: $85,197 to $97,977 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
