Position Summary: Seattle Pacific University (SPU) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Academic Accreditation and Continuous Improvement Specialist. This position is vital for maintaining the university's accreditation and driving continuous improvement across academic programs. The successful candidate will collaborate with academic deans, program chairs, and data units to lead assessment planning, manage accreditation documentation, and coordinate accreditation-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Comprehensive Assessment Plan: Provide leadership in the development, maintenance, and monitoring of assessment plans for continuous improvement and accreditation. Collaborate with academic deans, program chairs, and campus data units to update and maintain assessment documents.
Project Management: Conduct regular assessment strategy and planning sessions with deans and program chairs. Coordinate data and communication management efforts under the comprehensive assessment plan.
Status Updates: Provide regular updates on accreditation and assessment activities to the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) and Academic Leadership Cabinet. Present updates to the President's Cabinet when requested.
Assessment Tools Management: Order and manage ETS Major Field Tests and other assessment tools for academic deans.
Senate Assessment Committee: Serve as the CAO's delegate to the Senate Assessment Committee.
Accreditation Liaison Officer: Serve as the campus Accreditation Liaison Officer, compiling, completing, and submitting reports using data from comprehensive assessment plans.
Accreditation Files: Maintain accurate and complete accreditation files.
Website Coordination: Coordinate updates to the university website in support of accreditation.
Accreditation Updates: Provide regular accreditation updates to the CAO and Academic Leadership Cabinet.
NWCCU Visits: Coordinate logistics and events planning for NWCCU accreditation visits.
Programmatic Accreditation: Assist academic dean executive assistants with programmatic accreditation reporting and site visits.
Academic Events Planning: Contribute to the planning of academic events.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Experience:
Experience in higher education administration, with a focus on accreditation and continuous improvement.
Knowledge of accreditation processes and requirements, particularly with NWCCU accreditation, is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong understanding of assessment methodologies and best practices for continuous improvement.
Proven project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
Highly organized, with a keen attention to detail for maintaining accurate documentation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with academic leaders.
Ability to analyze and interpret data, and compile comprehensive reports for leadership and accreditation bodies.
Proficiency with assessment tools and software for tracking and reporting accreditation-related data.
Leadership skills to guide assessment planning and continuous improvement efforts.
Familiarity with website management and coordination of accreditation-related updates.
Commitment to maintaining complete and accurate accreditation files.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in event planning, particularly in coordinating logistics for accreditation visits and academic events.

Salary: $78,250 - $78,500
This is a full time position with excellent benefits. SPU pays the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance. SPU makes generous contributions to an employee HSA account and a 7% contribution to a retirement account, for eligible employees, with immediate vesting in the plan. Tuition discount program (50% - 90%) available for the employee and qualified immediate family members.
