The Accounting Coordinator is an integral member of the finance team and is responsible for payroll administration, day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, budget support, and financial system administration. The Accounting Coordinator will engage with staff through the budget, reporting, and payroll cycles by providing accurate and timely information that promotes sound fiscal management and wise stewardship of financial resources. Other responsibilities include attendance at a variety of meetings and supporting the staff team in fulfilling the mission and ministry of College Park Church. This role will report to the Director of Finance.

Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration
Responsible for all bi-weekly payroll activities including preparing, loading, and submitting all payroll runs
Coordinate with staff on payroll record updates as needed
Primary point of contact with HR manager for any payroll updates related to staffing changes
Responsible for payroll tax reporting including 941 filings, W-2 preparation, etc.
Primary point of contact for payroll audits
Prepare annual staff compensation sheets
Accounting
Responsible for all day-to-day accounting activities
Prepare all monthly journal entries for review and entry
Coordinate all activity in the general ledger including locking the register
Performs all monthly and year-end account reconciliations (ex. prepaid expenses, Christmas offerings, etc.)
Performs all monthly and year-end system reconciliations (ex. PayChex to MP, FE to MP, etc.)
Reviews and updates all restricted fund balances
Works with AP coordinator on cash transfers as needed
Prepares bank reconciliations for review
Financial Reporting
Responsible for editing and coordination required for all departmental spending reports
Performs variance analysis as needed
Performs ad hoc reporting and financial data pulls as requested
Assists the Director of Finance with reporting support for a variety of meetings including Elder Finance Committee, Elder Admin Committee, congregational meetings, etc.
Budget Support
Assists the Director of Finance with preparation of the annual church budget
Prepares and loads all budget information into Financial Edge
Coordinates with various ministry staff to help prepare departmental, section, and programmatic budgets
Systems Administration
Financial Edge admin level user responsible for adding, configuring, and removing users, configurating profiles, reporting structure, etc
Onsite point of contact for support/questions from staff with system access
Opens support tickets and coordinates with Blackbaud and IT to resolve system issues as needed
Other
Attend staff meetings and finance team meetings
Special projects and other tasks as assigned
Education & Skill Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field (e.g., business, accounting, nonprofit administration)
Three years of accounting and/book-keeping experience
Extensive computer skills including a high level of proficiency with MS Excel and experience with financial accounting systems (ex. Financial Edge NXT), church management systems preferred (ex. Ministry Platform), and payroll systems (e.g. PayChex) preferred
Certified public account designation preferred

Work Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt role totaling approximately 40+ hours weekly, Monday-Friday. Opportunity for working both in office as well as remotely/from home 1-2 days a week.
Attendance at staff meetings and other staff functions required.
