Cedarville University is seeking to hire an Assistant Director of Public Relations who leads a team of student public relations writers in the development of stories about university faculty, staff, students, and their respective programs. This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position, reporting to the Executive Director of Public Relations.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Write stories and provide leadership to the student public relations writers
Manage student schedules and Timesheets
Review and edit news releases
Post news releases on the university’s website
2. Serve as Merit Software Manager to communicate student-related stories

Write Show Notes
Post and Distribute Podcast
5. Advertising Manager
Request advertising creative
Place ads in selected media outlets
6. Crisis Communication
Assist in crisis communication situations, when needed
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, professional writing, or English preferred
Strong writing skills required
Proven experience in professional writing, editing, journalism, or related area
Exceptional proofreading and editing skills
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
Proficient in common office software systems (Photoshop knowledge, preferred)
