Anderson University’s Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships invites applications for a full-time position as Assistant Director for Financial Aid Counseling. Anderson University is an innovative, entrepreneurial, premier comprehensive, Liberal Arts University affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The Assistant Director for Financial Aid Counseling will report to and assist the Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships with the everyday operations of the office ensuring top quality customer service to all students who seek assistance from the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. The Assistant Director will counsel students on all aspects of financial aid, including satisfactory academic progress for federal aid, state scholarship eligibility, renewal and enhancement requirements, and professional judgment considerations. The Assistant Director will provide leadership to the Office of Finanacial Aid and Scholarships and will thoughtfully delegate tasks to team members, monitor progress, and provide necessary Application and Verification Guide training to remain compliant with all federal and state regulations. Participation in professional development opportunities and additional projects may be required.
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree or two years financial aid related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, strong customer service skills and MS Office skills required. Previous experience with PowerFaids, Power Campus, Workday, and Department of Education systems preferred. Strong math skills and ability to read, analyze, and interpret government regulations and general business publications essential. Proven ability to think critically, strong organizational skills, and experience leading collaborative groups is essential.
