Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the full-time Nursing faculty position in the College of Health, Science & Technology. The University seeks a forward-thinking and bold leader to embrace enthusiastically its mission of transforming student lives thought high-impact education. The Nursing faculty member will work collaboratively with the Director of Nursing, Associate Director of Nursing, faculty, staff, and administration to inaugurate the BSN program, support student success, and establish and execute the strategic priorities for the department in alignment with the University's strategic plan in the development of the future graduate programs in Nursing.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Upholds and fulfills the mission and philosophy of the University/department of Nursing
Participates in and promotes a culture of continuous quality improvement
Provides leadership and promotes the growth and development of the nursing programs
Provides subject matter expertise and delivers didactic and/or clinical instruction according to an approved course syllabus using accepted and effective teaching methods while promoting student retention and satisfaction
Provides service to the University, department of Nursing, and the community through serving on appropriate University/department and Governance Committees, participating in University/department activities, cooperating in the recruitment and retention of students, and engaging in scholarly endeavors and research for professional and scholarly growth
Participates in professional programs, departmental projects, and attends workshops and/or classes for personal enrichment
Instructs in a variety of instructional settings and times, including evening and/or weekends, on-line or off-campus and large group instruction classes as needed
Candidates must support and be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago, a university of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS)

Minimum Experience Required:
5 years of experience in clinical nursing practice
3 years of experience in nursing education or equivalent hospital education experience
Knowledge of state and national program accreditation
Prior experience in progressive roles that include teaching and learning responsibilities
Teaching experience in baccalaureate level program with curriculum development and assessment
Evidence of self-development through participation in continuing education offerings, advanced study, scholarly pursuit, and/or professional and clinical activities
Education Requirements:
MSN degree required
Current RN license or eligibility for licensing in Illinois required
