George Fox University's Analytics & Foresight department seeks an organized, creative, and self-motivated individual to serve as the Market Research Analyst.
About the Job:
In this position, you will support institutional strategic initiatives and business development by researching and providing relevant market information and recommendations to an audience of directors and executives. You will find information to be filtered for relevance, integrated across differing sources, aggregated as necessary, and summarized for your audiences. In all cases you will demonstrate sound reasoning and strive for objectivity in the offering of recommendations reached via the research and presentation process.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Researching then generating Feasibility Studies and Business Cases on potential University initiatives.
- Being the expert internal user of data products sourced with data generated and/or stored outside the University and acting as the University liaison for vendors providing such products.
- Provide market research data to stakeholders to assist in the assessment of current programs and additions or changes being proposed.
- Developing, documenting, and continuously improving the production process of delivered work product, in collaboration with the Executive Director of Analytics and Data, to increase both quality and quantity of market-oriented research over time.
- Distributing current best practices, guidance, and tools in the production of market research to interested internal parties.
- Identifying opportunities and suggesting initiatives for the University to meet its strategic objectives.
- Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
- By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
- Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.
- Other duties as assigned.
We're looking for candidates who have:
- A Bachelor degree in a field requiring reasoned research papers, while the fields of Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a financial discipline will be particularly suited OR two years work experience in a role producing similar deliverables.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness, organization, intrinsic motivation, and creativity in a previous work setting.
- Numeracy skills that allow for the thoughtful creation, consumption, and distribution of statistical claims that may be utilized as evidence in research reports.
- Ability to make the evaluation of evidence central in the delivery of research products and recommendations in a dispassionate, agenda free, manner.
- A demonstrated commitment to growing your own capabilities and working with a manager committed to that growth.
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
