Position Summary: Warner University is seeking applications for a full-time faculty member to teach English, beginning in August 2023. Responsibilities primarily include teaching Composition and developmental writing courses, though general literature courses may be taught as need and opportunity arise. Other responsibilities include student advising and serving on department, college, and university-wide committees. Candidates should hold a minimum of a master’s degree in English (doctorate preferred) or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution, and preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience. We seek candidates committed to teaching, service, and the mission of the university. The successful candidate will teach primarily in the traditional setting at Warner University’s campus in Lake Wales and may teach online as well.
The successful candidate is expected to display a commitment to Christian education, especially as it pertains to the relationship between faith and the study and use of the language. The chosen candidate must affirm and support the university’s Statement of Faith. Preference will be given to candidates who have some degree of theological education or experience in Christian education in an orthodox, evangelical context.
Experience with Moodle or a similar online learning platform is also desirable.

The administration, faculty and staff are qualified in their areas of service and dedicated to the ministry of higher education. History: Warner University was founded in 1968 by the Church of God, Anderson, Indiana, as a liberal arts, co-educational, Christian university. The campus was built on 300 acres donated by Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Holland. The first commencement took place in 1972 with four graduates. Warner’s third President, Dr. David A. Hoag, was inaugurated in the fall of 2016. He is preceded in leadership by only two others; Dr. Gregory V. Hall (1991–2016) and Dr. Leroy Fulton (1968–1991).
