Our Institutions
CCCU institutions are located around the world. Though they are diverse in size, scope, and mission, they are each committed to faith-integrated higher education.
The Program Chair for Nontraditional Business Programs is a significant leadership position in the School of Business. This 11-month full-time tenure-track administrative/faculty position will oversee all nontraditional (online) business programs and teach in at least one of these programs. The online undergraduate and graduate programs include degrees in accounting, finance, general business, human resource management, healthcare administration, and management.
The Program Chair serves as both an administrator and faculty member. As an administrator, the Program Chair will work closely with the Business Dean to ensure quality of curriculum and other program-related items. This individual will also work closely with Curriculum Design, Enrollment, and Marketing personnel in program development and delivery. The Program Chair will carry an annual load of 36 hours to include teaching and administrative duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful Program Chair will work with the necessary individuals and offices to carry out the following responsibilities.
Administrative Responsibility:
Monitor existing nontraditional business programs and manage curriculum revisions and updates
Manage curriculum development proposals for new courses and programs
Ensure that catalog changes are maintained in an efficient and timely manner
Collect data for institutional effectiveness reports for online business programs to be submitted for accreditation purposes
Schedule undergraduate and graduate courses each semester (fall, spring, summer)
Assign instructors to teach courses each semester
Evaluate instructors who teach in the online business programs
Manage textbook adoptions for online business programs
Collaborate with enrollment/admissions teams in recruiting students
Cooperate with academic advisors to ensure appropriate student support
Teaching Responsibility:
As a faculty member, the Program Chair will teach graduate and undergraduate courses in his/her area of expertise primarily in an online format.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful Program Chair is a person with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith who is committed to Christian higher education that integrates faith with learning. This individual has:
An earned doctorate from a regionally-accredited institution in a business-related field
Experience in industry that relates to the discipline subject matter
Experience in higher education administration is desirable
Ability to manage and develop academic programs
Ability to conduct academic research in his/her discipline
Ability to successfully teach nontraditional students at the university level, including undergraduate and graduate courses
Ability to teach effectively online
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with students, colleagues, and administrators
Ability to network effectively and work collaboratively with external partners and stakeholders
Strong oral and written communication skills
