The Department of MA Counselling Psychology in Trinity Western University’s School of Graduate Studies invites applications for a 0.6 FTE Sessional faculty position beginning August 16, 2023. The ideal candidate should possess a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Counselling or Clinical Psychology. As a sessional faculty, this position is ideal for a clinical practitioner who desires to be active in private practice and actively involved in graduate student training and development. The successful candidate will have had experience in teaching graduate courses in the field, provided clinical supervision and thesis supervision to graduate students. Preference will be given to applicants with interests and experience in one or more of the following areas: mentoring women professionals and scholars, international student development, child and youth counselling, psychopathology, community psychology, group counselling, crisis counselling, marriage and family systems counselling, addictions counselling and advanced counselling skills. Non-instructional responsibilities of the position include clinical supervision of first and second year master’s students, program advising and evaluation of comprehensive professional examinations. The MA in Counselling Psychology program is accredited with the Council on Accreditation of Counsellor Education Programs, offering both thesis and non-thesis programs of study to a wide diversity of students. Graduates of the program successfully enter professional practice in psychology and counselling, and many go on to doctoral study in psychology, counsellor education, and related fields.
