The Department of Nursing in the School of Science, Engineering and Health at Messiah University invites applications for full-time nursing faculty. The primary focus will be Medical-Surgical nursing or Maternity in the fall semester and Pediatrics and foundational courses in the spring semester.
Qualifications: Minimum ofMaster of Science degree in nursing with appropriate clinical practice certifications; doctorate in nursing preferred (PhD or DNP), or current enrollment in doctoral study. Graduate preparation in nursing education and certification in nursing education (CNE) highly preferred. Previous college teaching experience preferred. Must have clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing, maternity and/or pediatric nursing. Candidate should have a commitment to excellence in teaching in a Christian liberal arts setting and to ongoing scholarship, service, and practice in nursing. Must have a current, valid professional nursing license in the state of Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include theory and clinical teaching in at least two of the following core clinical courses: Nursing Care of Adults and Older Adults, Nursing Care of the Childbearing Family, Nursing Care of Infants, Children, and Adolescents, or Foundations of Nursing Practice. Additional course responsibilities may include: Health Assessment, Historical and Conceptual Basis for Nursing, Pharmacology, and/or Pathophysiology, depending on qualifications. Doctorally prepared candidates (PhD or DNP) may have the opportunity to teach graduate level courses. Faculty will have advising and institutional service responsibilities as well as continuing in their own scholarship and practice.

The program enjoys a reputation for high quality classroom and clinical instruction producing well-prepared graduates who are preferred for hire in local and regional health care institutions. The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, the master's degree program in nursing, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Messiah University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org).
The Department: Simulation laboratories include advanced simulation with medium and high-fidelity human simulators. Faculty are committed to the integration of Christian faith in the practice of the nursing profession. Students also have opportunities for cross-cultural experiences and development of intercultural competency is encouraged.

Compensation: Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
