Position Summary: Warner University is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time faculty position in Bible, Theology, or Ministry. Individuals must hold a doctorate in Theology, Old Testament, New Testament, Ministry, or a closely related discipline and have experience teaching at the college level. The individual must have excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills. Experience with online teaching is desired. The chosen candidate will teach primarily our core course Christian Life: Faith and Practice but will teach elective courses as well.
Warner University offers students from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to develop spiritually, academically, and professionally in a Christian environment. Faculty in the Ministry Department want students to develop spiritual maturity, be committed to a mission of disciple-making, be accurate and faithful interpreters of the Bible, and have concrete ministry skills. We offer a combined major in Bible, Theology, and Ministry. All Warner University students take four classes from the Ministry Department.
We desire candidates who affirm the inerrancy of the Bible without hesitation and are clear on the nature of the gospel and have the willingness to share the gospel. Candidates should also have skills to teach our first-year Warner students, many of whom are first-generation college students. Experience on the staff of a local church is important.
Teaching experience in the contexts of evangelical and liberal arts traditions is preferred, and candidates who have some degree of theological education or experience in an evangelical context will be given priority.
Warner University’s liberal arts curriculum prepares students to successfully meet the demands of today’s workplace and the challenges of graduate school. Graduates emerge as servant leaders who evaluate issues from a Christian perspective while striving to live out their belief in their communities, churches, and homes. The administration, faculty and staff are qualified in their areas of service and dedicated to the ministry of higher education. History: Warner University was founded in 1968 by the Church of God, Anderson, Indiana, as a liberal arts, co-educational, Christian university. The campus was built on 300 acres donated by Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Holland. The first commencement took place in 1972 with four graduates. Warner’s third President, Dr. David A. Hoag, was inaugurated in the fall of 2016. He is preceded in leadership by only two others; Dr. Gregory V. Hall (1991–2016) and Dr. Leroy Fulton (1968–1991).
