Columbia International University is seeking a Chief Financial Officer/Controller. The Chief Financial Officer/Controller provides leadership in the planning and management of the University’s financial resources, and in the communication of its financial information to internal and external constituents.

SOME RESPONSIBILITES ARE:

• Ensure that the University has a clear business model that includes all CIU divisions and is effective, sustainable, and in keeping with CIU’s mission, vision, and core values.
• Provide financial reporting to the CIU Board of Trustees, the BLS Board of Directors, the executive team, and external constituents (e.g., accreditors, donors, regulators, etc.).
• Oversee budget management and investments management (endowments and other scholarship funds of $40 million).
• Oversee internal and external financial reporting (GAAP financial statements; Form 990; management “dashboard” reporting; and ad hoc reports as needed to appraise and show operating results), as well as budget development and reporting.
• Monitor the University’s cash position, and initiate actions needed to meet the organization’s needs and maximize resources.
• Ensure that adequate controls and procedures are in place (and documented) to safeguard assets and produce reliable financial information.

SOME REQUIREMENTS ARE:

• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to CIU’s biblical and community life and doctrinal standards, mission and goals.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, reporting, management, and analysis in an organization with a diverse financial structure and fund accounting system.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Five years of proven financial management experience within a large, complex organization.
