SUM Bible College & Theological Seminary is searching for qualified applied lesson instructors (particularly vocal instructors, though others are encouraged to apply). Ideally, candidates will have ample experience performing musically in a local church context, in contemporary musical genres, at a high level.

Musical Criterion
- Must be a current or recent (within the last 5 years) practitioner of contemporary worship, cultural or geographic distinctives not-withstanding;
- Must be a highly trained and accomplished musician, preferably in the jazz/black gospel/world traditions; those trained in the Western Art Classical tradition must possess demonstrated experience/proficiency and be well-versed in contemporary forms and genres;
- Previous professional recording experience is preferred;
- Should submit videos demonstrating applied proficiency as stated above.
Spiritual and Professional Requirements
- Must be a born-again Christ follower and affirm SUM’s statement of faith;
- Professional worship experience is preferred;
- Collegiate teaching experience is preferred;
- Musical mentoring/private teaching experience is required;
- B.A. in Music is desired.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach five to ten 30-minute long vocal lessons/week for 8 weeks during an 11-week term.
- Coach students toward vocal proficiency.
- Submit grades and evaluations.
