The Office of Admissions at Messiah University has an opening for a full-time Admissions Counselor.
Responsibilities: This year-round, full-time position has the responsibility to promote the university and build relationships with university partners, generate interest from prospective students, and guide students and their families through important admission steps to ensure that enrollment goals are met. The counselor oversees recruitment and admissions efforts for a specific geographic region and is responsible for recruiting students and communicating the mission of Messiah University to prospective students and their families.
*Due to expectations about vaccination status varying from state to state and across institutions, this position requires that the candidate be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the start of the position.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required; Previous college admissions experience, bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Skills and Characteristics: Effective interpersonal skills in student and family counseling; enthusiasm for representing Messiah University; strong commitment to Messiah University’s mission; excellent written and oral communication skills; strong organizational and time management skills; strong skills in computer technology as it relates to communication and organization of data; must be a self-starter and able to work without direct supervision while on the road; ability to set work priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced setting while focused on meeting territory goals; ability to work with and relate well to a broad spectrum of constituencies including people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, both on- and off- campus.
