Greenville University is seeking to fill position for a full-time professor with expertise in Mechanical Engineering.  The successful candidate will be able to teach courses in the Engineering program, specifically courses in Engineering Design and CAD, Mechanics of Materials, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, and Senior Design. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students in a robust learning community. Rank, tenure status, and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience.

The primary responsibilities of the position include:

• Teaching courses in the following areas: Engineering Design and CAD, Mechanics of Materials, Thermodynamics, and Fluid Mechanics. Depending on expertise, the selected candidate may also contribute to teaching other introductory courses in the Engineering program or the Physics program.
• Providing academic and career advising to students in the Engineering program.
• Serving on Department and University committees.
• Performing other responsibilities as defined by the University.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.  An earned doctoral degree is preferred.  Expertise and/or experience in several of the following areas: Engineering Design and CAD, Mechanics of Materials, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Machine Design, and Manufacturing.
• A commitment to teaching excellence in an undergraduate, liberal arts program.
• A record of scholarship and a willingness to conduct summer research in an undergraduate setting. 
• A demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Greenville University.
• Ability to engage in critical thinking and exercise independent judgment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information. 
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
• A commitment to competent inter-cultural teaching
