Faculty Position - Art
Concordia University Irvine, California, announces a search for a full-time faculty member in the Department of Visual Arts beginning in July 2022. The individual should be engaged in artistic methods, curriculum, and forms as they relate to studio art, as they connect to a Lutheran liberal arts perspective and potentially art history. CUI seeks an individual who values a Christian educational approach to higher learning and will promote the mission, purpose, and objectives of the university.
Qualifications: Terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in art (or related visual art field)
Appointment: The position is a full-time position that will require being on the Irvine campus and comes with full rights as a full-time faculty member. The faculty will be expected to teach studio arts courses to majors as well as to non-majors in our Enduring Questions and Ideas (Q&I) Curriculum in General Education. They will be expected to participate in events related to the Q&I Curriculum on campus, including convocations and requirements of full-time faculty with respect to service to the Institution, the Academy, as well as to the church and community..
