What We Are Looking For
The Assistant Registrar has primary responsibilities for scheduling including scheduling of classes, the allocation of academic space for classes, and various aspects of registration activities. To these ends, this position serves as the project manager and chief resource for the upgrade and continued use of Ad Astra schedule software. In addition, this position provides expert input on University space planning.
A Bachelor's degree, two years of relevant work experience, and an active Christian faith are required. A Master's degree and four years of relevant work experience are preferred.
Provides expert input on space planning as it relates to Academic spaces in which classes are scheduled by providing data, analysis, and expertise to support University-wide facilities prioritization and decisions, and by representing the needs of the instructional enterprise at numerous related meetings.
Manages the schedule of the University’s shared classrooms. As a function of managing the schedule, has oversight responsibility for monitoring and reporting on the condition and upkeep of these spaces.
Schedules class sections in Ad Astra via the Optimizer and on an ad hoc basis. Assists departments during class schedule creation by analyzing and resolving scheduling conflicts.
Manages all upgrades to the Astra system and ensures thorough testing of the functionality within upgraded versions and the accuracy of data. Interacts with the software vendor and other institutions as Baylor’s primary representative for Astra.
Writes Crystal reports from Astra and Banner to support operational activities, coordinating with the Senior Analyst Programmer in ITS as necessary.
Manages the class schedule creation and management process through ClassAct and Banner.
Supervises the abroad programs class schedule process which includes registration; class section changes; and the summer overload process.
Creates the University’s final exam schedule each semester. Assigns space for departmental exams during the final exam period.
Fulfills other functions and responsibilities as requested by the Associate Registrar.
