Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Admissions & Student Development, the Director of Warmth and Welcome creates amazing and memorable experiences for prospective students and their families. From marketing concepts to the final execution, every detail needs to be strategically planned, executed, and experienced at the highest level. The candidate in this role must be a hospitality and project management extraordinaire, with the ability to consistently provide every guest with a “red carpet experience” that leaves them saying “WOW!” Additionally, this role will provide internal hospitality, project management, and administrative support to the Office of Admissions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBLITIES, AND FUNCTIONS
The essential duties, responsibilities, and functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Campus Visits (75%)
Plan and execute individual visit experiences for prospective students, families, and guests.
Create memorable events that encourage movement through the admissions funnel.
Thoughtfully curate the visit tour route and script.
Meticulously plan and execute visit experiences and events, ensuring physical grounds are clean and in show condition and relevant office personnel are prepared and ready to receive guests.
Collaborate with IST to maintain a digital presence on the website, regularly creating and updating content.
Create and maintain the campus visit communication flow.
Meet regularly with campus stakeholders to ensure frequent, high-quality communication about upcoming visits and events.
Meticulously manage all campus visits in Salesforce.
Conduct outreach to high school and community college guidance counselors, churches, and other community groups.
Provide operational ownership for Preview Days, Monthly Spotlights, and Summer RAM Days as signature welcome events.
Collaborate with the Dean of Student Success & Director of Student Engagement to plan and execute New Student Orientation.
Partner with the Director of Student Engagement to strategically plan campus-based programming for current students in alignment with prospective student events.
Serve and interact with prospective students and guests in a manner that demonstrates a mature and committed Christian life.
Administrative Support (25%)
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Student Ambassadors.
Collaborate with the Enrollment Technology and Automation Specialist to select, training, supervise, and evaluate institutional student workers.
Provide administrative support to the VP-ASD and personnel within Traditional and Online/Graduate Admissions.
Ensure an organized, neat, and inviting office environment that projects professionalism, warmth, and hospitality.
Serve as the primary manager and gatekeeper for Admissions social media channels.
Provide assistance and support for programs, services, activities, and events that advance the mission and goals of the Offices of Admissions & Student Development.
Actively integrate Christian faith into professional practice.
All other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Admissions & Student Development.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree preferred, HS diploma or equivalent required with significant experience in hospitality/project management.
Previous experience in higher education and event planning is desirable.
Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills; well-developed presentation skills; emotional intelligence and relational skills.
Self-motivated with superior customer service skills.
Facility with MS Office Suite of tools. Ability to learn new technology platforms.
Ability to quickly build positive rapport and develop relationships with prospective students, families, and guests.
Ability to provide effective supervision to student workers.
Ability and willingness to work a non-traditional schedule.
