Higher Ed Administrative Careers - Human Resources, Higher Ed Administrative Careers - Other

Assists in leading a comprehensive human resources function to support the mission of PLNU, including: recruitment, employee relations, training and development, salary administration, and other employment-related activities.
Provides professional recruitment support and counsel for staff positions. Works in collaboration with the AVP for HR to develop effective recruitment strategies in line with the university’s commitment to attracting highly qualified diverse applicant pools.
Partners with faculty, administrative, and HR leaders to develop strategic initiatives and candidate evaluation processes that promote diversity efforts in line with the university’s mission and values. Develop recruitment dashboards and reporting for ongoing assessment of such initiatives.
Serves as the primary recruiter for senior-level searches.
Develops and supports in the delivery of the university’s recruitment, onboarding, and retention programs.
Oversees the overall staff compensation strategy, including position evaluation, compensation grades, and benchmark assessments in line with university objectives. Ensures compensation changes are in line with the university annual personnel budget.
Approves salary recommendations in line with university pay guidelines.
Assists in the performance management process and communication of appropriate expectations.
Provides support and serves as a resource on training initiatives. Serves as a trainer/facilitator as needed.
Provides coaching and counsel to supervisors and employees in positive conflict resolution.
Provides oversight and participates in university investigations involving employee and supervisor concerns.
Provides counsel for effective and consistent performance improvement, disciplinary reviews, and termination procedures.
Provides consultative services in the applicability and interpretation of employment-related laws and regulations. Leads annual review of PLNU policies and makes ongoing recommendations for amendments to such policies, including the staff handbook.
Oversees student employment, including supervision of the Student Employment Manager.
Develops collegial, effective and professional working relationships with administrators, faculty, and staff. Actively participates as a member of the HR team.
Assists the AVP for HR with the administration of all aspects of human resources services and programs. Serves as alternate to AVP for HR role in their absence as needed.
Completes other assignments and projects as needed.
Master's Degree with an emphasis in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred.
Senior Professional HR certification from SHRM or HRCI strongly preferred.
5-7 years in a senior level Human Resources role strongly preferred.
Experience in higher education preferred.
Familiarity with Workday HRIS preferred.

The work is primarily sedentary and may require sitting for extended periods of time. Use of computer equipment: computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Vision to read documents, e-mail and other correspondence, and reports on paper and computer monitor. Hearing and speaking to communicate effectively with others in person and by phone. Will also stand, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 10 lbs throughout the day.
