Department – Registrar’s Office Supervisor – Vice President for Academic Affairs Benefits – Yes Status – Full-time
The University Registrar at Bushnell University is a director-level appointment, reporting directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Registrar oversees all functions of the Registrar’s Office to ensure the accurate maintenance of student academic records, efficient scheduling of approved academic programs, accurate and timely communication to all University stakeholders, and adherence to approved academic policies and procedures. The Registrar must demonstrate a collaborative leadership style and a strong desire and ability to serve students, faculty, and staff in advancing the mission of the University to foster wisdom, faith, and service through excellent academic programs within a Christ-centered community.
Position Duties & Responsibilities
Perform and/or coordinate/supervise all essential functions of the Bushnell University Registrar’s Office, including—but not limited to—the following:
Supervise, train, and conduct routine evaluations of office staff;
Ensure timely reporting and accurate transcription of required course grade and participation reports;
Maintain student records and academic data;
Develop and administer departmental budgets;
Interpret and ensure adherence to academic policies and procedures as they relate to students, faculty, and staff;
Maintain approved course rotations and produce routine course schedules for each academic term;
Manage classroom assignments and scheduling;
Revise and publish the University Catalog annually;
Ensure timely and accurate processing of student withdrawals, leaves of absence, academic dismissals, and all student academic petitions;
Generate enrollment reports, trends, and projections as required by various campus stakeholders, including business office, admissions, student life, and institutional research.
Ensure timely and accurate transcript evaluations for transfer students;
Audit students’ academic progress and advise the VPAA, faculty, staff, and students regarding matters of academic warning, probation, and dismissal;
Ensure accurate and timely degree audits for graduating students;
Organize commencement information and coordination for all populations of graduating students, assist with commencement planning, and assist in the execution of all graduation ceremonies;
Maintain the Office of the Registrar web page(s) on the University website;
Ensure timely and accurate eligibility tracking for student athletes and other extra-curricular activities;
Ensure timely issuing of student diplomas;
Ensure timely processing of student transcript requests;
Serve as Veterans Affairs Certifying Official;
Serve as Primary Designated School Official (PDSO) for international student reporting through SEVIS;
Prepare required reports to the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) and other bodies as required by federal government legislation;
Serve as institutional liaison to the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA);
Remain current on FERPA regulations and coordinate FERPA training for University faculty and staff;
Maintain membership in and relationships with appropriate professional associations (e.g., AACRAO, OrACRAO, PACRAO, OAICU);
Attend Dean’s Cabinet, as required;
Serve as Chair of the Faculty Curriculum Review Panel;
Provide advice and/or resources to other institutional committees as required;
Respond within 24 hours (one business day) with accurate information to all telephone, email, and personal inquiries;
Provide a solid role model of wisdom, faith, and service;
Fulfill any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Experience and Qualification Requirements
Masters degree required, preferably in an area of higher education management and leadership.
Strong familiarity with the University’s current Student Information System (Jenzabar) is especially desirable.
Candidate must be actively engaged in a Christian congregation and able to identify with and support the Bushnell Theological Context for Community statement.
Higher educational background in the area of Bible/Ministry and/or professional experience in an institution of Christian higher education is highly desirable, along with evidence of assuming increasing responsibilities.
Ability to utilize Windows and Microsoft based software including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc. Willingness to learn Student Information System (Jenzabar).
Experience utilizing e-mail for the purposes of organizational communications.

The employee must have knowledge of strong office management techniques; operations, procedures, specific rules and precedents of the office; research methods and report writing techniques; record-keeping techniques; operation of office machines including computer equipment and specified software; principles of training and providing work direction.
Listening skills and the ability to speak and write clearly are essential to this position. Must possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
The employee must have high personal motivation, with great attention to detail and accuracy.
This person must project a positive, vibrant and professional attitude in assisting people.
This person must have high ethics of honesty and confidentiality, with a genuine and gracious presence pertaining to the students, faculty, staff and business of the department and the University.
This position may require lifting up to 25 lbs, as well as bending, stooping, kneeling.
