WORK SCHEDULE: University office hours are generally 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday; yet the ability to work a flexible schedule is required along with potential overnight travel within the Southeastern U.S.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Vice President of Admissions
The Assistant Director of Campus Experiences will lead the Office of Admissions' efforts to offer consistent excellent in person and virtual campus visit experiences for prospective students, families, and influencers. This position will select, train and supervise student contact specialists called Presidential Ambassadors to be able to carry out the personal contact aspects of this role.
Oversee the scheduling and logistics for daily campus visits, designing the ideal campus visit experience, including all necessary correspondence, scheduling and visit communication.
Serve as the primary liaison for all high schools, community colleges, and organizations that will be visiting campus, coordinating experiences across campus with a variety of offices and departments on campus.
Coordinate and lead large-scale student visit days hosted by the Office of Admissions.
Design and manage virtual campus visits events hosted by the Office of Admissions.
Coordinate and implement the logistics for virtual college fairs.
Select, train and develop student guides called Presidential Ambassadors. Ensure quality control in this large team, to provide excellence in the visit experience.
Maintain the university's campus tour script. Meet with key campus leaders and faculty to constantly update the script for maximum impact and accuracy.
Develop and maintain all Admissions Office social media elements. Ensure sites and pages are accurate and monitored to provide concise and positive information and visit experiences.
Create and develop communication content to engage prospective students and their parents to drive enrollment. Knowing that once students visit campus they are very likely to enroll, create and maintain a strategy to increase campus visits.
Oversee the student employees that work within the Office of Admissions.
Serve on university committees as needed.
Maintain strict adherence with NCAA Division II rules and regulations relating to the conduct and administration of the department. Assist with maintaining the student information database by entering relevant data and logging completed communication with potential students and parents.
Other duties assigned.
A bachelor's degree is required with master's degree preferred.
Minimum of two years' prior experience in admissions, communications, marketing or other higher education experiences, with evidence of strong leadership capacity.
Prior experience with event management preferred.
Prior experience with an Admissions CRM, "Slate" preferably.
Must demonstrate excellent organizational and management skills and a highly developed entrepreneurial spirit combined with strong communications and public relations skills.
Must be a self-starter and team player with computer proficiency and systems management skills.
This position requires the team member to function at a high level of organized proficiency and handle multiple, essential tasks simultaneously.
SWU is committed to maximizing the use of technology in its daily operations and in achieving its strategic goals; the ideal candidate will be familiar with integrated database management systems, including reporting, and have a high comfort level with web-based, mobile and PC applications including but not limited to the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
