The Lubbock Christian University Library supports the Lubbock Christian University educational experience by connecting the academic community of learners to information and services that advance scholarly inquiry. Library faculty provide services and instruction as needed to this community of learners. We are seeking a qualified librarian to provide copy and original cataloging, process books, maintain the catalog, and provide system administrative functions. This position also serves as liaison to assigned subject areas and maintains the subject specific collections, research guides and provides instruction to those areas.
Major Responsibilities: Applicants will be expected to maintain the catalog, oversee student workers in processing books, and provide copy and original cataloging. Applicants will maintain the ILS and liaison with the provider. Experience with SirsiDynix is preferred. Applicants will serve as liaisons to their assigned areas and provide instruction and collection maintenance for those areas.
Collaboration with library colleagues and with other faculty as a liaison is expected. Maintaining confidentiality is expected.
Scholarly activity, service, and other duties as assigned are also expected of the successful applicant.
Requirements: An earned M.L.S. or M.L.I.S. from an accredited American Library Association institution is required with a minimum of three years of experience in an academic library setting. A minimum three years’ experience in cataloging and/or system administration is preferred. Experience in library and information literacy instruction is also preferred. All qualified applicants must be professing Christians and be active, faithful members of a congregation of the Churches of Christ and be willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of the university.
