The Humanities Program at Eastern Nazarene College invites applications for a one-year, full-time faculty position serving as both the Artistic Director for the ENC Theatre Season and teaching in the program’s Theatre for Social Justice major during the 2021-2022 academic year. The Humanities Program at Eastern Nazarene College offers majors in the following areas: History, History Education, Communication Arts, Journalism and Writing, and Theatre for Social Justice. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate teaching excellence, a strong commitment to mentoring students, and a desire for serving in the context of an urban Christian liberal arts institution in the Wesleyan tradition.
Serve as artistic director for the 2020-21 Theatre Season at ENC, involving three productions beginning with the Fall Musical in October.
Teach 12 credits (based on typical three-credit courses) for the academic year. Possible classes include: Directing & Teaching Theatre, Acting, and Multi-Cultural Drama.
Fulfill typical faculty responsibilities such as attendance at faculty meetings and College events like Commencement and Convocation, while also providing service to the Humanities Program, college, and community. As a small liberal arts college, faculty are expected to work closely with the students in their discipline.

a philosophy of education;
a personal statement on diversity in higher education, exploring how you have personally been shaped by working in diverse settings as well as how you believe that these experiences will help you embody the mission and values of Eastern Nazarene College;
a statement of faith – a statement of your Christian experience, including how your Christian commitment models the mission and values of Eastern Nazarene College and your church affiliation and involvement.
Minimum requirement of a Masters in Theatre or closely related field. A doctoral degree is preferred.
Experience teaching at the undergraduate level and mentoring students.Applicants with other kinds of relevant experience may also be considered.
Demonstrate an active relationship with Christ as expressed in faith and service which is in accord with the mission of Eastern Nazarene College and display a philosophy of Christian higher education consistent with the college’s Wesleyan tradition.
