We are a global higher education association dedicated to advancing faith and intellect for the common good.
As a member service, our institutions have a dedicated partner in the CCCU on the hill. We advocate on behalf of our institutions as if they have a seat at the table.
The CCCU offers faith-integrated, off-campus study programs in nine locations across the U.S. and around the world that foster students’ intellectual, cultural, vocational, and spiritual growth.
More than just a job-finding service, the CCCU Career Center links passionate people to meaningful careers with faith-based employers, in faith-related positions, and in all sectors of higher education.
We organize numerous conferences that provide leaders on our campuses with important faith-centered professional development in their respective fields.
To fulfill our mission and meet the needs of our members, we provide unique services for administration, faculty, students, and friends of Christian higher education.

The Council for Christian Colleges & Universities seeks an experienced, confident, and creative project manager to serve as our new Conferences & Events Director who will be responsible for overseeing and managing our portfolio of conferences and events from conception through post-event reporting. Prior to the pandemic, we only offered in-person professional development opportunities, but the new director will be tasked with reimagining the strategy and establishing a comprehensive delivery and execution plan for providing timely, relevant professional development opportunities to our members through in-person and virtual environments. The Director also provides the strategic direction and vision for our sponsorship program and event underwriting. The Director will research, cultivate, plan, and execute a large variety of complex conferences, meetings, and/or webinars each year. The in-person portfolio currently consists of 10-12 conferences each year. The Director collaborates with colleagues and member volunteers who serve on commissions, as well as other key stakeholders to successfully manage and execute programming that supports leaders in Christian higher education.
The CCCU is preparing to host the 2022 International Forum, an event hosted every 4 years in lieu of stand-alone conferences in that particular year. We anticipate 1,000 plus attendees and it will be the first major in-person gathering for the organization since February 2020, so the financial and intrinsic success of the program is paramount. The new Director should be prepared to jump in to leading this project to success while also hiring and onboarding a new conference coordinator. The Director will oversee a staff of two, which includes a part time sponsorship coordinator and will later include a full-time conference coordinator.
A successful candidate will have 7+ years of meeting and event planning experience, ideally including delivery of in-person, virtual, and/or hybrid meetings, have strong financial literacy, and be an experienced budget creator and manager. Candidates should have strong project management, communication, and relationship management skills. Possessing the capacity to think strategically coupled with the ability to excel operationally will be critical for success in this role. Candidates should be confident, articulate, and able to communicate with people at all levels of an organization, and must also possess good initiative and leadership skills. The Director must be able to travel up to 25% (when public health circumstances allow) and must be able to travel February 5-13, 2022 for the International Forum.
Virtual Work Note: Due to COVID-19, all staff are currently working remotely and will be for the foreseeable future. Candidates must be able to work effectively in this virtual environment and be able to transition to working from the CCCU’s DC office when the decision to discontinue full-time remote work is made.
