CCCU institutions are located around the world. Though they are diverse in size, scope, and mission, they are each committed to faith-integrated higher education.
The Registrar, through faithful service to accomplish the mission of Kuyper College, is responsible as the chief records, registration, and assessment officer to provide leadership for directing, guarding, and assuring the accuracy and integrity of student academic records, assessment programs, and institutional research. The Registrar holds a non-tenure, academic faculty position.
Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned through the Academic Office)
Student Academic Records, Registration, and Retention
Develop and publish the academic calendar, course offerings, course schedules, and direct the registration processes in collaboration with the Academic Dean, the faculty, and the Dean of Students and Work.
Oversee creation and evaluation of degree audits and conferral of degrees.
Secure academic transcripts and fulfillment of request thereof, and supervise preparation of enrollment verification.
Evaluate and determine transfer credit, equivalencies, and articulation policies.
Coordinate Dean’s List, academic probation and dismissals, grade checkpoints, and final grades.
Manage and coordinate programs at additional locations and other institutions with consortium and collaborative agreements.
Edit academic portions of the College Catalog and coordinate the publication of the catalog each summer.
Maintain records, along with the Retention Committee, of students at risk of leaving the College before they have completed their intended degree. This includes collecting and maintaining exit interview information.
Act as the College’s FERPA and Federal Compliance Officer.
Institutional Data and Research
Provide vision, management, and interpretation of the College’s administrative software, Populi, in order to ensure accurate and consistent collecting, recording, and releasing of institutional data and other institutional statistics.
Complete and store statistical reporting and surveys with federal, state, accrediting agencies.
Provide accreditors and others (HLC, ABHE, IPEDS) and College stakeholders with appropriate assessment data.
Support faculty in enrollment reporting and program cost analysis.
Provide information and assistance for the ongoing academic advising efforts of the faculty.
Assist new and transfer students as well as students in collaborative programs.
Act as primary liaison between Cornerstone University and Davenport University regarding student progress and program details.
Work with program directors and internship supervisors on international and out-of-state internships.
Serve on College committees as appointed by the President (often includes Admissions, Academic Affairs, Assessment, Faculty Assembly, Retention, and Information Technology).
Fulfill school certifying official duties and coordinate with Veterans Affairs responsibilities acting as liaison with the US Dept. of Veteran Affairs.
Attend various College functions such as chapel services, faculty retreat, the Exchange, assessment days, convocation, and commencement.
Christian Commitment: The Registrar will exhibit a vibrant personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, displaying a Christ-centered servant leadership that integrates faith and work. Critical to this is a demonstrated ability to articulate and promote a biblical, Reformed perspective in higher education. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience: A master’s degree is required, preferably in education, academic administration, or a related field, and at least three years experience in academic office positions. The candidate shall have considerable knowledge of assessment and data requirements for higher education.
Language Skills: The candidate will demonstrate the ability to reach, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations, as well as, write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. The candidate will also be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, faculty, students, members of other institutions, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: The candidate will demonstrate the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and will be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
Reasoning Ability: The candidate will possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Also, the candidate will be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, the candidate should have knowledge of database software, internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
