| DEAN FOR THE HOWARD & BEVERLY DAYTON SCHOOL OF BUSINESS Position: Asbury University invites applications and nominations for the next Dean for the Howard and Beverly Dayton School of Business (DSB). This is an administrative post with faculty status. The Dean is the chief academic and administrative officer of the DSB. The Dean is responsible to the Provost of the University. Responsibilities: Candidates will serve as Dean of the Dayton School of Business (DSB) leading the management of the school along with exploring growth opportunities. The Dean is responsible for the vision, strategic growth, personnel, programs and budgets for the DSB and will be expected to teach a reduced load of graduate and undergraduate courses in both online and face-to-face modalities. Courses will typically be affiliated with one or more of the following areas: business administration, sport management, accounting, finance, and nonprofit management pedagogy. - Provide leadership for casting a compelling program vision and growth strategy for the DSB;
- Give overall leadership to DSB faculty by encouraging professional and personal development, promoting cooperation and fellowship within the DSB, and fostering on-going attention to faith and learning development;
- Provide leadership in formulating educational policy for the DSB;
- Serve on the Deans’ Council to assist the Provost in collaboratively cultivating policies related to institutional protocols and procedures;
- Provide leadership to establish competency standards and objectives for all programs within the DSB;
- Review recommendations for appointment, reappointment, promotion, tenure, and termination, and forward recommendations to the Provost;
- Manage all departmental budgets within the DSB by approving and monitoring expenditure of all University funds under their purview;
- Facilitate the relationship between the DSB Future of Work Coordinator, external partners, and the Asbury Catalyst Center.
- Recruit, develop and retain a diverse assemblage of faculty with demonstrated commitment in business that will add stature and bring national recognition to the School.
- Consult with the Provost regarding Associate/Assistant Dean, Department Chairs, and Program Director appointments and evaluate DSB personnel annually.
Requirements: A PhD in business or a related field or DBA is preferred, however individuals with an MBA or other credentials and experiences will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with an earned doctorate from an AACSB or ACBSP institution. The next Dean for the DSB needs to demonstrate - a commitment to academic excellence and spiritual vitality;

- the aptitude to articulate ambitious goals and establish priorities with clear accountability to ensure results while managing resources effectively and efficiently;
- a strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and intercultural understanding within Christian higher education and extending into the marketplace;
- knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources;
- knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of educational impact and success.

School of Business Information: The Dayton School of Business has over 200 students in undergraduate and graduate programs. The School of Business houses programs in accounting, finance, marketing, management, sport management, and nonprofit management. Degrees are offered at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. There is a strong emphasis on social and commercial entrepreneurship. It is a goal for every student to be mentored by a Christian business person, and for each student to serve as an intern. The DSB desires to develop corporate and entrepreneurial leaders in a changing, global business environment. We believe the business world needs more graduates who with "head and heart" become innovative leaders capable of anticipating, initiating and managing change. Academic Rank: Academic rank at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level commensurate with experience. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
