This position is a part-time, graduate assistant position and is available to any student enrolled in a Wheaton College graduate program.
The Wheaton in Chicago Graduate Program Assistant (GPA) is a member of the Center for Urban Engagement (CUE) team. Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Wheaton in Chicago, the GPA works part-time to collaborate on and provide leadership for some initiatives and services of the Wheaton in Chicago program. This is a residential position; the GPA must live on-site at the Wheaton in Chicago facilities. Year-round housing will be provided in a Wheaton in Chicago apartment for the duration of the time of service.
Enrolled in a Masters program in the Wheaton College graduate school.
Experience living, learning, and/or working in urban contexts
Student Development experience preferred
Organized and self-motivated with strong administrative and collaborative skills.
Evidence of Christian character and commitment
Leadership ability and mentoring experience
Communication and management skills
Understand issues related to sexuality and racial identity development
Experience in addressing diversity issues in a Christian context
Additional Salary Information: Compensation includes free housing during the duration of the position, a yearly stipend, and covered costs of transportation and meals for all program-related activities, including two week-long trips during the academic year. Students enrolled in the MA program in Higher Education and Student Development may be eligible for an additional tuition discount contingent on funding availability.
