The Department of Health and Exercise Science in the School of Nursing and Allied Health welcomes applications for a full-time, tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor of Health & Exercise Science. The successful candidate must be able to teach courses such as Kinesiology, Nutrition; Exercise Physiology; Motor Learning; Tests and Measurements; Sport Skill Analysis and Strength and Conditioning and upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The appointment will begin in August 2021.
Responsibilities include teaching both face-to-face and online undergraduate courses, advising and mentoring students, supervising student interns, serving on college committees and in community service. Faculty development through scholarship activities including travel and research with undergraduates is strongly encouraged. Funding is available through an endowment.

Qualifications: Applicants with an earned doctorate in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or a related field are preferred; however, ABDs who will complete their degree before the date of appointment will be considered. NSCA certification and/or ACSM certification is preferred. Evidence of peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations is also highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be familiar with word processing software and have a basic understanding of computers and their application in an academic setting.
Ability to motivate students to excel.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Ability to teach through a variety of modalities to effectively instruct students
