Visiting Lecturer in English

The Department of Language and Literature announces an opening for a Visiting Lecturer in English with a creative writing emphasis. The position is a one-year position beginning August 1, 2021 and ending May 30, 2022. Application deadline is March 15. The department is seeking a faculty member committed to excellence in teaching and integrating Christian faith and learning. This position requires the Ph.D. in creative writing or MFA in writing. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to teach playwriting and/or screenwriting. Desirable areas of secondary specialization include creative nonfiction or fiction. In addition, the candidate must have a strong commitment to teaching first-year writing and supporting a culture of writing across campus. The faculty member will teach four courses per semester that will generally include two first-year writing courses and two courses for writing majors. Candidates will have demonstrated interest and ability in mentoring student writers and will be expected to help develop and participate in extracurricular activities that enrich the curriculum for writing majors. The department is looking for an energetic and imaginative candidate who can make strong contributions to a growing writing major on a Christian liberal arts campus.
