Faculty Careers - Communication/Design/Media, Faculty Careers - Other
Anderson University and the College of Arts and Sciences invite applications for a full-time (9 months) tenure-track professorship in Communication beginning in August 2021. A terminal degree in the discipline and experience teaching at the undergraduate level is required. Screening will begin immediately and continue until the job is filled. Faculty rank will be determined at the time of appointment based upon degree, experience, and record of scholarship.
This position offers opportunities for innovation and leadership in the Department of Communication and beyond. We are looking for creative candidates who can help grow and diversify digital production, expand programs in production, and spearhead marketing initiatives for the program, the College, and the University as a whole. The Communication major is one of AU’s fastest growing, most dynamic majors, especially in digital media. Candidates should have experience in program development and leadership initiatives, and in various forms of digital media and studio production. Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud software and in teaching lighting, sound design, motion graphics, and production courses is crucial. While the position involves teaching studio and documentary video production, managing production in Chiquola Studio, guiding undergraduate research projects, and advising majors, it also involves collaboration with marketing and an ability to leverage existing resources to help expand and create new undergraduate and graduate curricula that supports our mission.
