Full Time Faculty - Biology and Genetics

Geneva College invites applications for an opening for a tenure-track position in the Department of Biology. This position begins in August 2021. Minority and female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

JOB SUMMARY The selected individual would teach a full-time load (12 contact hours per semester) including General Biology; Genetics (lecture and lab); non-majors biology, and an upper-level course in an area of special expertise, such as Neuroscience, Genomics or Virology. Advising of students and faculty committee work is required. Establishing a research program for undergraduates is desirable. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until filled.

QUALIFICATIONS: Christian Commitment The candidate must be a thoughtful and articulate Christian and an active member of a Protestant evangelical church. Preference will be given to candidates who support and have an articulate understanding of the Reformed faith. The individual must understand and support the College’s doctrinal position as stated in the College Charter and the “Foundational Concepts of Christian Education” by expressing an evangelical Christian profession of faith and demonstrate the ability to integrate a Christian perspective in their work.

Work Environment Typical educational setting. Geneva is organized around academic departments. The position is in the Department of Biology. Teaching is at the undergraduate level and primarily on campus, but there is the possibility of future development of graduate and online courses. |
