Summary: Montreat College seeks a full-time faculty member in the Natural Sciences Department to join a growing and dynamic team in the natural and health sciences. Montreat College’s enrollment has grown rapidly in recent years, and the college has identified the natural and health sciences as a strategic area for the future of the college. This faculty member will instruct introductory level natural science courses, as well as teach physics courses to students preparing for graduate school in the health and natural sciences. Astronomy, and other courses as-needed.
Duties and Responsibilities: The candidate will be responsible for:
Teach general education courses in the Natural Sciences Department, including but not limited to physics, astronomy, applied mathematics, introductory natural science courses, and other courses determined by background and departmental needs.
Teach required physics courses to students who plan to enter graduate school in the health and natural sciences
Advise students in the natural and health sciences
Participate in faculty committees as necessary.
Support the college’s recruitment and retention efforts by participating in and supporting recruitment and retention activities
Other duties as described in the Faculty Handbook.
